Naturopathy
What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a natural and individual way of healing that gently encourages the body to heal itself and restore natural vitality. It is a complete and holistic approach that focuses on treating the “whole person” and getting to the root cause of illness, rather than just treating the symptoms. In treating the “whole person” naturopathic medicine engages the benefits of nutrition, herbal medicine, vitamin and mineral supplements, as well as encouraging sound lifestyle, emotional and spiritual foundations (not to be confused with religion).

Naturopathic Consultations
What happens in a Naturopathic Consult?
Initial Consultation: An initial consult will last approximately 90 minutes. During this time, I will take a detailed case history including family and personal history, lifestyle factors like quality of sleep, diet, stress levels, toxic exposures, hormonal influences, hydration levels, gut health and other contributing factors that may be affecting your health. Non-invasive bio-individual testing will also be conducted. Further functional testing such as microbiome stool testing, hair tissue mineral analysis, hormonal testing, adrenal and thyroid testing, stool analysis and other basic pathology testing may be required on an as needed basis. Once the cause of your health issue has been identified, an individualised treatment program will be formulated specifically for you. This may include herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, as well as diet and lifestyle modifications. A detailed explanation and discussion about your treatment plan will take place during this appointment.
Follow-ups: Approximately 60 minutes. This appointment allows us to track your progress, identify any other areas of concern, asses any pathology or testing that was carried out and make changes to your treatment plan if required. Bio-individual testing will also be conducted at follow-up appointments subject to patients progress.
**All effort will be made to ensure you understand what we are trying to achieve and you feel empowered with your treatment plan. After all, it’s your health and well-being and only you can bring about change.**non-invasive bio-individualized

This means as parents we may need to get a bit creative and look for imaginative ways of disguising these supplements. Below are some handy tips to have up your sleeve when you find yourself in this position.
